Lucas Grafton has spent the last ten years hunting the Conclave, a secret organization who took everything from him: his wife, his child, his very identity. Now he has a lead: an imminent terrorist attack on London code-named Descartes.

Born with a genetic illness, Jenna Young has always known she was different. But the unexpected death of her father catapults her into a world of murder and terrorism she never expected. In order to stay alive, she must solve a twenty-five-year-old mystery, and her only ally a hard bitter man in search or retribution, her only clue the Descartes Highlands, an area on the near side of the moon.
Luke's need for revenge collides with Jenna's hunt for the past, and together they must stand against the Conclave. All the while uncovering the truth behind Jenna's illness, a truth that will make Jenna question her very humanity.

Reviewed by SparklesIf you enjoy Sci-Fi romantic suspense, The Descartes Legacy is a great choice. Jenna finds herself suddenly without the medication she takes for a genetic illness when her father dies in a car accident. A letter sent on the event of his death puts Jenna in the middle of a violent world she could have never imagined.

Luke has lost it all to the Conclave: a worldwide clandestine organization lead by the most powerful and rich of the planet who stop at nothing to further their own agendas. Set on destroying them whatever the cost, he’s been gathering intel for the last decade. When a lead points him to Jenna and he finds her in the middle of a murder investigation,  things begin to get interesting.

Jenna just doesn’t know who to trust or what the hell is happening to her. As Luke and his people keep unearthing secret after secret, her life seems to spin out of her control.

Jenna was incredibly strong, the world kept shifting under her feet but she didn’t let it take her down. Resilient and ultimately selfless she was a fantastic leading lady. Luke was committed to his cause, but when he realized what Jenna meant to him,  his priorities diversified. He was in command, aloof and sexy. A badass with a tender side: pure yumminess.

I do have to confess that while the suspense and action sides of The Descartes  Legacy are extremely well done, I didn’t completely connect with the romantic aspect. I was never totally engaged with Jenna and Luke’s relationship.

This is a fascinating and entertaining book I really enjoyed, but I haven’t been able to find the following book, as it finished in an HFN with a month as the time frame… is the next installment out there or in the works? Because if it isn’t well, that’s just plain mean!
