Anthony Carter has not had it easy in life. In a matter of months, he lost his mother to cancer along with his much coveted spot in a prestigious doctoral program. Swimming in debt, he's been forced to move back to his hometown in rural Montana and take whatever job he can find. A drunken weekend in Vegas is exactly what he needs to help him forget his problems.A recent break-up with her boyfriend of nearly a decade has left straight-laced Liz Rockwell disillusioned with love and in desperate need of a vacation. She gets more than she bargained for when one drunken night at a Vegas bar results in her being married to Anthony. Embarrassed by her lapse in judgment, Liz is ready to make this whole night just go away. A quickie divorce seems like the best solution to their problem, until Anthony realizes who Liz really is.Known in the media as the Candy Heiress, billionaire Liz is the answer to Anthony’s prayers. All he has to do is convince her to write him a check. Unfortunately, Liz is not one to be easily intimidated or coerced. Discovering the Rockwell family secret may be Anthony’s only hope. But the more time he spends with the intelligent and tenacious Liz, the more he realizes their chapel wedding may not have been such a drunken mistake after all...

was a light, fun and sweet story about learning to let go and trusting your feelings.

When Liz finds herself all alone on a supposedly “girls-only Vegas weekend” after her two best friends are no shows, she decides to drown her post break-up  sorrows in the hotel bar. Anthony finds himself ditched by his friends. When he sees the hottest woman sitting alone at a hotel bar he decides to go wipe the sad look off her pretty face. After one night and one very expensive bottle of liquor neither imagined they’d find themselves married with no recollection of doing it.

At first, they decide to each go back to their regular lives and just forget about the whole thing, but soon after Anthony discovers his new wife’s identity everything changes. His situation you see, it’s a little bit complicated at the moment, and a rather big amount of money is what he needs to be able to jump start his life again. Of course, when you’re married to a billionaire heiress, that’s not really an issue, right?

Well, someone should get Liz a memo, because she most certainly does not live the life of the rich and famous. She most definitely won’t give her hard earned money to some guy, no matter how charming he is or how cute his dimples are.  Anthony came to Miami with the last of his money to confront his wife, but when his half-baked plans get beat to a pulp by Liz, he needs to do some quick thinking… and convinces Liz to give their marriage a try. Or so he thinks. Soon their time together begins a change in them both that neither can stop… but that they’ll fight till the very end.

Anthony was a great guy put in a very difficult position by one bad choice in his past and while at first his reasons for pursuing Liz were totally wrong, we get to see the real him soon enough. He really was charming, caring,  and sexy and a fantastic cook on top of everything. Liz was a bit harder to like, as she was very rigid in her opinions. She was set on following her head, no matter what her heart told her. Her not ever really giving Anthony a chance rubbed me the wrong way rather constantly.

There was some seriously steamy scenes, lots of hilarious banter and snort-inducing dialogue. Their chemistry was great and I really liked it when Liz gave herself the chance to relax and just enjoy Anthony. There were a lot of family dynamics in Liz’s family that I really wish were explored more in depth, but I guess we might get the chance to visit with all of them later on in coming installments.

All in all, How to Catch an Heiress was a light, fun and sweet romance I enjoyed reading.
