Abel Lockwood would do anything to become a father—including hiring a company that matches donor mothers with prospective fathers. Love Child caters to wealthy bachelors who’ve been unsuccessful in creating a family through traditional means. Despite Love Child being an unconventional route to take, the conception takes place exactly the way nature intended.
Nearing forty and still single, Abel has accepted he won’t meet the right woman to marry and have a family with, so Love Child is his last hope for becoming a father. He’s gone through the files of the potential donors and handpicked one perfect candidate to create his baby with.
The moment he comes face to face with Adeline Matthews, Abel knows she’s the one. But not just the one he’s hoping to make a baby with. She’s the one he’s hoping to create a family with.
Abel has always dreamed of being a father, but a career oriented life and never finding the right woman has kept him from this life goal. Fortunately, now there’s Love Child, a not very public company that will find him the perfect woman to give him a child. Like a surrogate, but where the babies get created the old fashioned way.
Between lots of candidates he has selected the perfect girl for this very important job, but as soon as he meets her for the very first time, he realizes she’s the one he has been searching for to actually build a life with. The only thing that’s missing now is getting what he wants… whatever means necessary.
Adeline hasn’t had a lot of good experiences in the romance department and thinking of bringing a child into the world with an irresponsible father terrifies her. In dire need of money to take care of her mother and sisters, she goes to Love Child where the man who’ll have her baby will be someone who really wants to be a father. Abel is everything he said he was on paper and more, and the prospect of having to create a baby with him gives her a major case of stomach butterflies.
Soon, the terms of their contract are being changed, she is moving into Abel’s penthouse, and lots of baby-creating-fun are being scheduled.
“It’s taking every fiber of willpower I have in my possession not to lay you down right here on the kitchen floor and plant my baby in your virgin womb.”
Abel was super hot, intense but a complete teddy bear. And Adeline was a sweet, innocent and caring girl. They made a very cute couple, and I had fun getting to know them. The final angst-inducing-issue though, I felt it was completely unnecessary, and they could have reached the same ending without it, but hey… I’m not really complaining here.
“When I noticed more of my seed rolling out of her, I grabbed another handful of pillows and shoved them beneath her, glaring at the wet pool gathering beneath her. I’d have to replace all that had spilled out of her with a fresh batch.”
Love Child was a very sweet, sexy completely OTT story and I loved it. I found the premise original and I enjoyed reading it immensely. I’m definitely adding Kat Austen to my OTT-romance Author’s shelf.
