He'll do whatever it takes to get her against the boards…

Sidelined by a potentially career-ending injury, the only thing hockey player Ryan Douglas should be thinking about is recovery. But after sharing a near death experience and a night of passion with a spunky brunette, the only thing on his mind is five and a half feet of sexy sarcasm. And he'll do whatever it takes to get her back in his bed—even if it means playing dirty.

Chloe Jacobs is done with fairytales. And men. She's kissed her share of frogs and what's it gotten her? Dumped by text—again. Determined to eighty-six illusions of romance and prove she's more than just a good-time girl, the last thing she needs is a pushy, arrogant hockey player testing her resolve. Especially one who's sinfully good with his hands and thinks date-by-blackmail is a perfectly acceptable social convention.

Ryan wants to play games? Fine by her, but this is one faceoff he's going to lose.

This book may be unsuitable for people under 17 years of age due to its use of sexual content, drug and alcohol use, and/or violence.

Review Header

By SparklesHoly Puck! This one was super schmexy.

Chloe is a social media expert at a PR agency who’s been more than unlucky in the love department. The last douche she was seeing just broke it off via text… if it even counted as seeing each other. Now she just got stood up after getting all dolled up for a date and nothing will get in the way of a giant margarita. Not even a blizzard. Not even the hot as sin lumberjack sex God who just grabbed the last lime on the produce section of the market around the corner from her house.

Ryan is a (super hot) hockey player recovering from a career-threatening injury. After getting his butt kicked by his PT session all he wants is a drink. And the little fiery hot chick who’s throwing attitude at him for getting that last lime won’t keep him away from it. No matter how alluring she might be.

Well, it so happens that while they’re sassing each other over limes, a robbery starts to take place. Ryan can’t not do something about it and soon he is saving the day, with help from Chloe that is.

Ryan walks Chloe home and well… you know, they have a lot of adrenalin pumping in their veins, and they are very attracted to each other. They have great chemistry and things get super-hot, super-fast.

A couple of days later they’re still thinking of the other but with no chance of ever crossing each other’s path again… New York is a big city after all. But luck would have it that Chloe’s agency is working with the Rangers in a charity organization involving kids and they’re filming a publicity spot.

And wouldn’t you know, that hot player with the big C in his jersey is none other than Ryan. He can’t believe his luck when his hot spitfire is again at arm’s reach, and he won’t stop at anything until she agrees to go out with him… so what if he has to blackmail her? They both will get what they want from it.

Soon they’re involved in a quasi-relationship, but when that’s not enough will they risk it and become really involved? Yes, their chemistry is off the charts. Yes, the sex is like nothing they’ve ever experienced. Yes, they get along as if they were meant for each other.

But both of them have been burned before by love and when your trust has been broken it’s hard to put yourself out there again.

The hotness level really took me by surprise with this one, it was a great read and I immediately connected to both characters. At some point or another, I wanted to hit them over the head with something blunt, but that was to be expected. Fun, light and entertaining this was a great read and I’m looking forward to more stories by Ms. Bonds.
