How is Regan going to survive the holidays in a small town where her reputation precedes her? With a lot of liquor.

Former hell raiser Regan Delaney is back in White Mist, Montana. She’s almost thirty and has no clue what she’s doing in the hometown she vowed never to return to- especially during the holidays. Regan’s return triggers a visit from a rock star, a restaurant throw down and a blast from the past in the form of her high school sweetheart, Brooks Hawking who she left behind to pursue her dreams.

This book may be unsuitable for people under 17 years of age due to its use of sexual content, drug and alcohol use, and/or violence.

By SpiceWhat a fun read!  After reading a doozy of a book that sent me into a tailspin, I was in danger of going off the book funk cliff.  Thank goodness one of the Dirty Girls had discovered this little gem and recommended it to the rest of us.  I loved the quirky heroine, Regan, and the total alpha male hero of this story, Brooks.  This is a second chance at love book, which usually isn’t my thing, but this sweet, funny story just drew me in.

Regan was a mess and finds herself back in her hometown that she left under less than ideal circumstances 10 years before.  Brooks is the man who was her first love and who she turned down when he asked her to marry him the night before she left.  Once he lays eyes on her again, he has no intention of letting her get away again.  The crazy family members, a funny little town, and Regan’s friends who rotate in to visit (like a rock star) were almost as entertaining as Regan and Brooks constant back and forth.  There are some steamy scenes in this book but overall they were kind of tame compared to some I’ve read.

I did have to take away a star for some little things.  I thought the issue with Paula’s actions that caused Regan to stay away for 10 years were unresolved.  She never atoned for her actions and this didn’t sit well with me.  I also thought the ending felt really rushed.

I am so glad I took a chance on this new to me author.  I’m definitely going to be checking out more of this author’s work.
