Five years after their wedding, and life is good for Renzo and Lucia.

If not a little stressful.

They’re always on the move—Lucia with her gallery, and Renzo being an assassin for The League. At the chance to slow life down with a week-long trip for just the two of them to Bali, they can’t pass it up.

But even Bali will change things …

It’s one more step toward forever.

Forever is a companion to the Renzo + Lucia series. It is not written as a standalone to the series and shouldn’t be read as such.

This book may be unsuitable for people under 17 years of age due to its use of sexual content, drug and alcohol use, and/or violence.

By LilyWhat I look forward to each time I read a Bethany-Kris book is the way she brings life to characters in a unique yet familiar voice. Without fail I find myself swept up in her stories which depict the everyday life challenges in people whose lives are far from ordinary.

It was lovely to catch up with Renzo and Lucia in this companion novella. After all the drama they had experienced, the relaxed setting was a welcome change. I would strongly recommend reading their books in order, starting with Privilege, the first book in their story.

The story picks up five years after the last book, with Renzo and Lucia well settled into their life together. Both had found success within their careers that kept them busy. Finding time to be alone was a challenge. A surprise getaway provided the space they both desperately needed to switch off from work.

Unlike their previous books, the focus this time was on their relationship rather than suspense. Their family’s presence added a familiar backdrop and enhanced the story, especially the cameo scenes that included Diago and John.

As usual, the best made plans rarely pan out exactly as intended. Bethany-Kris masterfully added the perfect mix of romance and tension to create a page turning read. Renzo and Lucia have both matured into well adjusted and easy to relate to characters. While the world they live in is surreal to me, the juggling of work and family interactions resonated to everyday life.

Forever was a wonderful romantic interlude featuring characters I hope we get to read more about in the future. The family Renzo worked so hard to support are now reaping the benefits and as such I can feel their stories are begging to be told!
