I made a conscious decision to cheat on my husband.
Now, before you judge me, hear my story. Hear how much I'm like you, how similar my thoughts are to your own. Yes, I'm a horrible person. Yes, I've done horrible things. Yes, I don't deserve forgiveness. Yes, bad things happened because of my actions.
But I'm willing to bet I've done things that maybe, just maybe, you have thought of doing.
Maybe, just maybe, you're not as innocent as you'd like to think.
Or maybe I'm not so guilty ...

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Misha and Tal in My Time In the Affair. They were the perfect couple to bring this forbidden, steamy and suspenseful romance to life.
Ok, first up it’s time for my confession. With a bit of free time to myself, I ended up on an unplanned reading binge and My Time In The Affair happened to be in the middle of it all. As a 4 star read, I was determined to shout out how much I enjoyed this story through a review but for the life of me I couldn’t recall why I enjoyed it. All it took was for me to read the first page. The story instantly came back to me with the one reference of ‘The Mikes’. Writing this review reminded me how valuable it is to write down your thoughts as soon as you finish a book.
Misha is in an amicable but lacking marriage. She decides to bite the bullet and plan a holiday to Italy where she can indulge in a fling away from her family and friends. It doesn’t take Misha long to realise her mission is a lot harder to execute than she imagined. Just as she has given up on her big plans, a dream guy catches her attention but she is over the whole idea and tells him no thanks.
Her marriage wasn’t bad it was just dying a slow death and she was over her continued efforts to revive it. With hindsight, they should have both walked away along time ago but they were friends and she wasn’t keen to hurt him and let him down. Once she gets a taste of how good life can be she realises it is going to be impossible to live like she did knowing what she is forsaking.
I’m not going to go into the dirty details of how the affair began or how it panned out. That’s the fun part of the story and I don’t want to spoil for others. What I will say is that it was a challenging, exciting and passionate story I highly recommend. It realistically explored Misha’s fears and doubts it was overshadowed by the exhilarating escapism she experienced.
Don’t be too quick to judge her infidelity. Remember there’s always more to a story than first meets the eye.
