Another year, another list (Lily is a very happy camper right now). A bit better for me personally than last year, 2018 also had some seriously good books. Incredibly enough, I’ve managed to get an actual Top Ten(-ish), plus a couple of honorary mentions. Because really, how could I pick only 10 books???!!! Without further ado, here you have in no particular order my favorite reads of the year (not counting the ton of re-reads, of course).

The Emerald Lily by Juliette CrossThe Emerald Lily (Vampire Blood, #4) by Juliette Cross

This was an epic finale to an epic series. If you enjoy action-packed paranormal, hunky vampires and kick-ass heroines then this is a book and series you do not want to pass on.

Look the Part by Jewel E. AnnLook the Part by Jewel E. Ann

This story totally blew me away and was the best possible introduction to a new to me author. Straight up contemporary romance, this had me charmed from the very beginning.

Until Susan by CP Smith/Until Nox by Layla Frost/Until Avery by Brynne Asher

Until Susan by C.P. Smith Until Nox by Layla Frost Until Avery by Brynne Asher

This year the ARR kindle universe had a lot of fantastic stories, but these three freaking rocked. With males so alpha your undergarments will just up and disappear on their own accord, you seriously do not want to miss these.

Marriage of Inconvenience (Knitting in the City, #7) by Penny Reid

Ms. Reid is one of my absolute favorite authors, with her quirky characters and general weirdness. Dan was the bestest H ever, and I laughed so hard with this book I can’t even. Read this.

Embers (The Dark in You, #4) by Suzanne Wright
Embers by Suzanne Wright

I still can’t believe this is the last book with Knox and Harper as the main couple. I want more! And this coming from someone who usually likes her couples to finish their story arc in one book. This whole series is effing amazing and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next story in this universe.

Darkest Heart by Juliette CrossDarkest Heart (Dominion, #1) by Juliette Cross

Ms. Cross has cemented her place in my shrine to authors. I adored with this full-on action, intriguing paranormal where demons and angels battle on Earth for dominance. A completely captivating start to a new series.

Waking the Dragon by Juliette CrossWaking the Dragon (Vale of Stars, #1) by Juliette Cross

A re-launch of this series gave me the opportunity to get acquainted with it. With the alpha-est Dragon/Human hybrids, this whole universe is off the charts fantastic. It has strong leading ladies, sexy, bossy, winged hunks and all the action and suspense you could ever want. Don’t even think about it, just go one-click.

Bad Situation (The Montgomerys #1) by Brynne Asher

Ms. Asher is kicking it out of the park this year. This was absolutely amazeballs. Sexy, hot, a bit charming and a bit sassy, And I can’t wait for the next one!!!

Styx by Layla FrostStyx (The Four #1) by Layla Frost

Holy. Freaking. Shirtballs. There are no words to explain the geniusness of this book. If you haven’t read it yet, all you need to know is its paranormal, it’s hot, and it’s FABULOUS. Go read.

Echoes of Fire by Suzanne WrightEchoes of Fire (Mercury Pack, #4) by Suzanne Wright

A dirty talking alpha wolf, completely kick-ass heroine, action, hotness galore and a fantastic time. This series, along with the Phoenix Pack, are on my permanent re-read list.

These are the books I loved but couldn’t quite figure out how to contraband into the top ten without the girls calling me out on it.
