No man can win her heart—until now…

In the Gladium Province, the boundaries between humans and Morgons, the dragon-hybrid race, continue to blur as a new generation surrenders to long-forbidden temptation…

Sorcha Linden does whatever she wants whenever she wants, and no one can stop her. Least of all a man. After all, they’re good for only one thing—warming her bed. But then she meets Lorian Nightwing, brother of Lucius. Seductive and iron-willed, he is determined to melt her emotional defenses—and warm her rebellious heart.

The beast within Lorian longs to cage Sorcha and mark her as his own. Forever. Yet the man within also longs to protect her. When a stalker starts leaving Sorcha suggestive gifts with cryptic messages bearing an ancient blood cult symbol, Lorian’s dragon side takes over. With her life at stake, Sorcha can no longer deny the love they share. But when evil tracks her into the night, will she be too late to claim it?

By SparklesI’m just loving this world by Ms. Cross, and these Morgon men are just getting hotter and hotter.

“You’re mine already, so you might as well give in.”

We met Sorcha and Lorian in Soulfire. She is Jessen’s sassy red-headed friend and he is Lucius’ rough around the edges younger brother. Now that they are working together Sorcha is using every opportunity she has to entice the grouchy Morgon, to no avail.

Lorian won’t be satisfied with only Sorcha’s body, he wants it all and will do whatever it takes to make that happen. Even play dirty.

“I want to bury myself inside you and drown in your scent.”

Sorcha is fiercely independent and is used to getting her way, always. Sassy, outspoken and even a bit brash, she was a hold-nothing-back kind of gal. I really liked her and although she was a bit too aggressive for my personal taste, I enjoyed most of her forwardness.

Lorian was completely dreamy, he was uber alpha and bossy, sexy and possessive. He was set on breaking Sorcha’s walls and wouldn’t stop until he succeeded.

Their chemistry was palpable and their time together steamy hot. Windburn had a bit more mystery and action than the previous installment and I really enjoyed it. I won’t lie though, I was hoping Sorcha would start kicking-ass like the heroines on the vampire blood series, but she was still awesome without that.

With a great pace, more than likable characters and all the sexy winged hunks you could ask for, this was another fabulous addition to the series and I can’t wait to see who Ella (the one Morgon-less remaining friend) ends up with.

Rating: 4+ “I really want a Morgon” Stars
