The smoking-hot one-night stand I was never supposed to see again?

Yeah, well, I might be pregnant, and he’s my OB-GYN.

Get ready to fall head over heels madly in love with the hottest OBGYN doctor you have ever met! This full-length standalone contains the most hilariously awkward lady-doctor visit, lots of playful banter and some good ol' fashioned baby-makin'!

This book may be unsuitable for people under 17 years of age due to its use of sexual content, drug and alcohol use, and/or violence.

By SparklesAfter reading the blurb and seeing some teasers for The Soul Mate I was totally stoked for one of those “oops-a-baby” stories, and the beginning held so much promise!!!

Mason and Bren share the best, most passionate night of their lives, and even though Bren can’t quite deny that it was extraordinary she leaves in the early morning. A devoted zoologist, she has deep daddy issues, which prevent her from committing to a relationship. Despite the fact that she can’t stop thinking about Mason, she is decided to leave him firmly in her memory as the best sex of her life. Everything changes when it looks like that one fateful night might have left some very permanent consequences.

Mason can’t believe he found the love of his life and let her escape without any way to find her. After looking tirelessly without success, just when he is about to give up she turns up. In his office. As a possibly pregnant patient. And the baby is resolutely his.

Mason was totally dreamy. Besides being hot, sexy and very naughty in the bedroom he was sweet, had a big heart and was a fantastic doctor. He was all in from the very second he saw Bren and was over the moon at having the chance to be with her. A baby was just fast forwarding a little bit.

I had a harder time connecting with Bren. While she was fun and sweet, and she could bond with her animals in an incredible way, her issues and her stubbornness to not deal with them had me banging my head against my Kindle in more than one instance. I mean, Mason was great with her and she kept blowing him off. It came to the point where I wanted Mason to tell her to go fork herself and go find someone else.

I hung in there because I was smitten with Mason, but then a completely unexpected turn of events totally killed me. I understand books just won’t be what I want them to be, but this was just cruel. After that, I was like that flipping the table meme and wanted to just shout *gggrrrraaahhhhhgggggg* in frustration.

In the end, everything works out. There’s a lovely HEA, a beautiful epilogue and really, Mason and Bren’s chemistry was fantastic through the whole book. I even enjoyed how Mason comes to some realizations and Bren eventually works through her issues. Unfortunately, nothing completely made up for that unexpected to me twist.
