The crime boss.
The hustling queen.
Cross and Catherine Donati have been married five years, but the life they’ve chosen still has things to teach them yet. One can never become too comfortable in their business. Trouble soon follows.
The principe and principessa are all grown up …
It’s tough being at the top. When all Cross wants is to slow down the world, reality has a way of speeding it back up. Just when Catherine thinks she’s learned everything her mother has to teach, more lessons come her way.
A king and queen must protect their thrones …
This is their life.
This is their love.

Get ready for the gushing/fangirling ahead, because Unruly blew me away! Why you ask?, First of all, the characters are larger than life, entrenched in a dangerous life and yet they go about their day as if the business exchanges they are embroiled in are akin to an enthusiastic walk in the park.
I concede there was tension and anxiety as they tackled the challenges of their life but it was the air of control they exuded while working that floored me. Meeting their opponents with a harsh, callous and indifferent attitude amplified the reason they were now the new bosses. Their personalities were a combination of genetics and influence.
The further I got into the story what delighted me, was the children were every bit as wired as the parents were to their surroundings. The difference was in the parenting approach. And talking of parenting, Catherine’s mother is still educating her. Consumed with determination, Catherine finds herself thrown in at the deep end as her mother passionately passes on all her wisdom and lessons to ensure Catarina’s legacy continues in the same vein.
The suspense was heightened by underlying threats surrounding the rather progressive and equally feared bosses. Catherine and Cross were more than husband and wife. Both passionate in presiding over their corners of the crime world, it made raising a family a fascinating study. As if any right minded mother would even consider doing what Catherine did and yet all the way through I was thinking how delightful it was that a mother and daughter could entwine so effortlessly. I dismissed my qualms with a gesture.
Catherine and Cross’ story captured me from the moment I first met them. The newest generation has already planted deep roots into my heart. Cece’s cheeky mannerisms had me smiling throughout. While Unruly concludes Catherine and Cross’ story, the sneak peek at what’s coming next in the legacy series left me hungry for Tom and Camilla’s story!
