The Biker Book Playlist

Musical Musings Header

By SpiceIt’s no secret I love a good, gritty biker book. Something about a rough around the edges alpha biker getting shot in the ass by Cupid just does it for me. Add in action, suspense, and lots of sexy times and I am a happy camper.

One of my first memories is sitting on my Dad’s bike. He retired from the military when I was a preteen. He had a lot of jobs after the military and was even a police officer during my teenage years (which completely sucked.  It was bad enough he was retired special forces and a biker, that whole cop thing was overkill for my poor tortured teenage soul).

But the people he was most comfortable around were his fellow bikers. He was also a musician and played at a lot of BBQ’s, bars and get-togethers, This meant I spent a lot of time, especially in my teens and early 20’s hanging out with bikers while listening to music.

It took me a long time to knuckle down and put together a biker book playlist. Years of hard (but fun) living have caught up with my Dad and although he still rides some he no longer plays music. Once I started compiling my list, the good memories won out over the sadness and I ended up thoroughly enjoying myself.

You’ll find a lot of the classics on here, but there’s new stuff too as I’m always hearing songs that I just know are perfect for when I’m reading a Chaos or Reapers book. You’ll also find some slower stuff because one thing I learned about bikers is many of them deep, deep down have the souls of poets. It’s what calls them to the road and why they play so hard and fall so hard if they find the right woman.

I’ve put together a top ten list of my favorite biker book songs. At the end of the post, you’ll also find a link to the entire Playlist on Spotify. Like all my playlists, I’ll keep adding to it as I come across new tunes.

PS: I need to give a huge shoutout to the Biker Book Babes group on Goodreads. It was there that I got several kickass suggestions for songs that were perfect for this list.

Spice’s Top Ten Favorite Biker Book Songs

You’ll Accomp’ny Me by Bob Seger
Typical alpha-hole, he’s not asking, he’s telling you that you will be his someday.

Simple Man by Lynryd Skynyrd
The epitome of a down-to-earth biker.

Born Free by Kid Rock
When I heard this song the first time, I had to stop everything and just listen. It’s the perfect biker anthem.

The House of the Rising Sun by The Animals
One of my favorite songs my Dad would play.

Bad Company by Five Finger Death Punch
I Like the Original by Bad Company better but the video quality is horrid and FFDP’s video is kickass
It’s all about the rebels, the misfits, and their way of life.

Diamond Eyes by Shinedown
Some songs are just so badass, they have to be included on a biker list. This qualifies.

Not Gonna Break Me by Jamie N Commons
There isn’t a lot to the lyrics, but those few words are powerful

Pride and Joy by Stevie Ray Vaughn
I have an entire playlist dedicated to love songs for alphas. This is at the top of it.

Work Song by Hozier
Kristen Ashley once said this was the most beautiful love song ever written. It’s powerful and completely worthy of a biker book Top Ten song.

Turn The Page Bob Seger
Nothing fits a long ride quite as well as this one.
