Everyone's heard of the seven-year itch. The dreaded stage in a relationship where couples can grow antsy and lose interest.
One stupid magazine article, luring her in with its catchy title was all it had taken to turn Alison Evan’s life upside down.
At the time, she’d only rolled her eyes and laughed at the list of red-flag signs it offered readers, warning of a cheating lover. After seven years and two kids, her own marriage to Garrett was rock solid.
Or was it?
Because lately, that list didn’t seem so ridiculous. In fact, that list was mirroring her life.
Which was why, by employing some creative investigative skills and dragging her best friend along for the ride, Ali decided to find out once and for all...
Was the seven-year itch about to scratch out another relationship?
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Oh, what to say not to spoil anyone’s fun? Seven Year Itch was a perfect match to the Fiona Davenport’s sexy-alphas-quirky-heroines-hot-as-fork Kindle World.
Ali and Garret’s life seems perfect: two beautiful kids, great friends, a fantastic job and the complete devotion of the other. Or that’s how Ali saw it until she read a stupid magazine article and suddenly her husband’s odd behavior began to look a lot like cheating signs.
Being the grounded and rational woman that she is, she refuses to believe the love of her life could be having an affair. There are totally logical explanations to every one of her worries. Or they seemed logical at first. Soon her suspicions double and she just can’t take it anymore, she needs to know.
Assisted by her best friend, Ali PI’s her way into her husband’s shifty behavior with hilarious results. But when you go looking for what you really don’t want to find the outcome is not likely to be good.
I really enjoyed watching Ali get herself in impossibly absurd situations and having to wing her way out of them. She was funny, kind and completely in love with her husband even after all their time together.
On the surface Ali and Garret’s relationship seems solid, with him being (mostly) considerate, sweet and super into his wife. I mean, these two go at it like teenagers… and it’s forking hot.
View Spoiler » I was kind of peeved at Garret and how he handled things after he realizes Ali is onto his weird behavior, that’s to say he carries on like he was doing. I really, really wanted to do some bodily harm… but he was just so sweet the rest of the time he kept winning me over. « Hide Spoiler
I totally enjoyed reading Seven Year Itch, it was funny and light, and although a bit angsty because of the subject matter, the outcome and epilogue make up for all of it.
