Today is officially the worst day of my life…
I woke up five hours late after a reckless one-night stand with the sexiest, cockiest, and most arrogant man I’ve ever met. (And this asshole actually left a note: “I think you were lying to me about being “experienced” last night. You orgasmed three times, and that was before we made it to your bedroom. I also find it hard to believe you “usually wear silk or lingerie.” Your drawers are all full of cotton granny panties--The best man you’ve ever fucked… )
My top two PR clients left me for my number one competitor, my roommate accidentally bleached my best suit, and my favorite coffee shop was shut down for “health concerns.”
Still, none of those things dimmed my excitement for what was supposed to be the best four o’clock signing session of my career. I was on the verge of signing the highest paying client in my company’s history, taking on a so-called “impossible” job that no publicist had been able to handle.
But at four o’clock, there was no athlete, television personality, or celebrity who showed up. Instead, that sexy, arrogant one-night stand stepped into my office with his familiar panty-wetting smirk and introduced himself as my new, cocky client...
In the back of my mind, I had this book filed as a lawyer romance. This had me confused, to begin with, as it’s a CEO/PR romance, it could have easily morphed into a legal battle but thankfully all impropriety was averted before action could be taken!
I thoroughly enjoying Cocky Client and had no trouble getting into it once the penny dropped. It’s a light and entertaining story about a badly behaved CEO who is quickly running out of options to remain on the board of his company. He is in desperate need of a PR Company who can quell the bad press he keeps attracting but he’s quickly finding his options are slim as word of him being the client from hell is spreading fast!
Penelope is mortified when Ryan walks into her PR company, seeking out her assistance. Ryan discovers he has met his match in Penelope when she refuses to put up with his cocky attitude. She does all she can to remain professional by desperately attempting to ignore the attraction she feels for Ryan. Her mode of defense is denial. He sees right through her fibbing and calls her out on it repeatedly.
Their antics are captured through emails with entertaining subject lines, similar to the previous books in this series. Cocky Client is cleverly presented in an easy to consume format, making this a wonderful guilt free treat to enjoy with your next cuppa! You may need to be cautious if you chose to read these books in public because there’s the risk of laughing out loud at the funny moments woven into each book. The Steamy Coffee Series can be read in any order you wish and it’s a wonderful way to wile away an hour or two next time that’s all you can spare!
4 Steamy Stars
At the time of posting this review, the option was there to purchase this book as a part of a collection of the first three novellas in this series. It’s a little more pricey, but you get three novellas for less than if you purchased them individually (like I did LOL).
