A scintillating standalone novella based on a true story coming soon from bestselling author J.C. Valentine.
Dating is hard. Especially when it's a younger man.Alejandro is everything I ever dreamed of:Sexy.Driven.Dominant.He's my Spanish lover. My every fantasy come true.My weakness. And he wants me. All of me. Maybe even more than I have to give. But the way he talks to me...looks at me...touches me drives me crazy in the best way possible. And he knows it. He knows the power he holds over me...and he wields it like a blade...Straight through my heart.Everything I have, everything I am, is in his hands...Because Alejandro is everything and nothing I expected. He may be my downfall...But I am more than eager to take the plunge.

This book may be unsuitable for people under 17 years of age due to its use of sexual content, drug and alcohol use, and/or violence.

Papi is the story of a woman who severs the ties of a broken marriage and her unfaithful husband. It entails the dilemma of getting back into the dating scene and the fear of the unknown.

Julie has done the unthinkable, by logging onto a dating site and stumbling through it as if she was a newborn calf finding her legs for the first time. Once she braves the inevitable selfie, her horizon brightens up. A hot Spanish guy comments ‘Cute pic’ and she’s beyond excited.  It’s enough to send her into a melt down and it takes a day or so to muster the courage to respond…because you don’t want to look too eager do you 😉

So begins the banter between Julie and Alejandro, text messaging each other nonstop. All of a sudden, Julie goes from unwanted to numero ono! When they finally meet it’s simply perfect. Not sickeningly so, but enough for me to wait for the scene to be all a dream – Mother falls asleep at keyboard, waking up to find she’s surrounded by kids clutter and washing, no hot guy in sight LOL. Of course she’s not dreaming. This is a fantasy come true.

There are some I-wouldn’t-go-there moments when I was positive I’d missed an important sentence, because surely she would have not let her sensibility go so quickly as to not follow rule number one View Spoiler », OK I’m going to let that one and a few other issues go in the spirit of goodwill because Julie was well overdue for a bit of well-deserved TLC and this was too good to pass up. .

The storyline is predictable and the characters endearing. While the story could have been fleshed out more, it didn’t impede on my expectations. Papi was the avenue for a good afternoon escape and although it ends on a cliffy, the next book is ready to snap up. Will I be reading on? You bet!
