Warning, this is book 1 of 2. This is a new adult romance which contains explicit sex - 18's only.
Antonia McNally has a great family, a great boyfriend, and a great future… until she finds herself interrupting a robbery and becoming the victim of a ruthless criminal. When she witnesses brutal murder, abuse and suffers her own traumatizing assault by his hand, her life changes forever. When love, loyalty, and strength are tested, the weak falter.
Moving away to the States offers her a fresh start; however, confident, successful Finlay Hayes, her best friend’s Brother adds even more chaos to her already turbulent emotions. When she can’t decide between ripping him a new one or ripping his clothes off, one thing is for sure, they both have an unquenchable craving for each other. When life starts looking a little brighter it’s not long before the storm clouds roll in. All is never what it appears and under his good looks and in charge attitude, Finlay has a past of his own and secrets that can destroy the dynamics of the friendships she has built.
Secrets are waiting to be spilled, but at what cost?

After a failed relationship and then a vicious attack, Antonia decides a fresh start is in order. She ends up staying with her best friend, Gaby, while waiting for her apartment to be available. Gaby just happens to live with her older brother, Finlay, who’s a jerk and has treated both Gaby and Antonia as if they are dirt under his shoe over the years. This means the chemistry she seems to have with him is confusing as hell.
There’s a lot of pushing and pulling as to whether Finlay and Antonia want to be together. When they cross the line between frenemies with benefits to being in a relationship, they keep it under wraps for as long as they can. The apartment Gaby and her brother are living in has a frat room vibe rather than a few adults sharing house together, which was frustrating. His housemates are a bunch of immature blokes with little respect for Finlay’s sister Gaby or her friend Antonia. For a businessman, Finlay came across as a brooding teenager, spending the majority of his time making Gaby and Antonia feel uncomfortable. All the drama he is creating, though, masks what spiked my curiosity, the mysteries lurking in both Finlay and Antonia’s past.
Drawn to You, is a new adult relationship, driven by drama. It included immature banter at times, which I overlooked because of my curiosity because of the building mystery in the plot. A lot of the moments that frustrated me I am putting down to a case of first-book-in-a-series-itis. By the end of the story I was left with high hopes for the next book. What finally determined my commitment to reading the next book was the bombshell that was dropped towards the end. I can’t wait to start reading the next book, Lines Drawn to find out what’s going to happen.
What I struggled with:
- Having a Gabe, Gaby and Gavin all in the same book!
- An instant attraction coupled with a slow burn
- The immaturity that surfaced at times
- Unexpected guests
- Parental meddling
What I loved:
- Not knowing or guessing what is about to happen next
