Eli Strong got out of the military and all he wanted to do was get better. He never expected that the officer he was living with would have a daughter who tested his honor.
Maggie Drummond has been moved around more times than she can count, and starting at a new high school sucks. But when a wounded Marine comes to live with her and her dad, suddenly Maggie figures out what home is.
She’s forbidden fruit, and he’s trying to not to taste… But desire can only be denied for so long. Circumstances keep pulling them back together, and something truly unforeseen happens. Overnight, Eli becomes a guardian and Maggie his ward.
Will Eli keep his hands off Maggie? Will Maggie like it if he doesn’t? Will the two of them break the law because it feels so good? Only one way to find out!
Warning: This book will make you ache in the best way possible! It’s so sweet it’s disgusting, and yet we just can’t stop. It’s a coming-of-age story that’s just what the author ordered. So eat up and enjoy!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Her Touch is a great example of how fertile our dear Alexa Riley’s raunchy mind can be.
Eli finally finds the girl of his dreams… Only she is the daughter of his CO and the man who has opened his home to him while he recovers. Although he is now out of the military, Thomas is the one man he respects and looks up to. He keeps his relationship to Maggie as platonic as possible, and for a time, they live as a happy family. Their chemistry and their feelings for each other win out though, and soon platonic isn’t sounding so possible anymore.
Eli, set on doing the right thing, tries to keep his distance but when circumstances force him to be in close quarters with Maggie, all his good intentions go up in smoke… now he just needs to get Maggie to give him another chance.
I loved that Eli and Maggie’s feelings developed progressively in this one. Or more like, their attraction while instantaneous, built exponentially with each day that passed and each of their interactions. I can’t say I was that fond of the misinformation issue that arouse, but I won’t complain much as I got the kind of epilogue I love.
Eli was definitely one of the younger AR heroes, but was no less OTT possessive about his lady love. He was sexy and bossy, and he was devoted to his woman from start to ever after.
Maggie was a sweet girl with a wonderful heart. Innocent and sassy she was just the type of heroine you’d expect. I loved how she could accept everything that was going around without so much as the blink of an eye.
My favorite part of Her Touch though is that it comes with a bonus story! You know, double the couple, double the breeding obsessed alpha fun! We got to see a story play out that you only suspected was playing out while reading Maggie and Eli’s. I don’t want to say much and ruin it for everyone but View Spoiler » Thomas and Alice were super cute together « Hide Spoiler while I completely adored him, I had a bit more of a hard time with her pronounced insecurities. However, there was enough loving and babies going around by the end of the stories to keep this girl very happy.
With some eye-roll inducing antics going on I can’t say this was my favorite AR, but it’s definitely a sweet, sexy story that kept me smiling until the very ends.
