Blake Jennings has always wanted what his parents had: a sweet, simple love that lasts a lifetime. And when he meets Luciana, he knows she’s the one.
Luciana Salazar comes from a tight-knit family that pushes her to follow her dreams. When she takes a job on the Braided Rope Ranch, the last thing she expects is to fall in love with its owner, the dark-haired man she’s seen watching her in town.
Roping the Virgin is over-the-top sweet, with a heaping scoop of sexy steam. Blake sweeps his Luciana off her feet and gives her the life she’s always dreamed of.
Warning: Ridiculous is almost close enough to describe this irresistible short story. Come back to the Jennings farm and pull up a rocking chair. You’ll like the way they treat you.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
A perfect new addition to this new series by Ms. Riley, Roping The Virgin is just as OTT, sweet and absurd as you would expect.
Blake has always been the easy-going of the male Jennings, but when Luciana, the girl of his dreams, keeps giving him the cold shoulder while being warm and affectionate with everyone else in town… he becomes one surly bear. On the verge of losing his patience and just kidnapping “his woman”, his sister-in-law comes to him with the perfect solution. Luciana is a vet in training and needs a place to finish her clinical hours. And their ranch is the perfect place to do it.
Soon, Blake is settling Luciana in his house and pulling all the stops to make her open up to him. Luciana on her part had been doing her most to avoid the gorgeous male specimen that followed her around town as she needed to concentrate on her job. But now that she is settled in his home and spending time together, all her reservations go out the window.
What follows is a whirlwind courtship a la Alexa Riley. filled with syrupy sweetness and raunchy sexiness. Blake was our usual OTT, obsessed, bossy hunk in jeans and a stetson.
“The way I see it, Lucy, you’ve got two choices. Stay here on the farm to do the work you need. Or stay here on the farm and do the work you need. Seems like an easy choice to make.”
Luciana was a sweet and caring girl, focused on making her dream of becoming a large animals veterinarian true. Coming from a close-knit family she was a bit worried about getting involved with Blake. Of course, he steamrolls over all her concerns sweeping her off her feet. I do wish the little Spanish that was alluded to would have been actually written in Spanish though, it would have given a little more real feel to Luciana’s and her families interactions.
So far I’ve loved these silly, sweet and sexy cowboy romances with their side of ridiculously OTT awesomesauce and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next Cowboy and his Virgin story.
