A man of darkness, a man of passion, trapped by temptation and desire. It's an inviting, achingly pleasurable alchemy no woman can refuse . . .
In the battle between good and evil, Kayla Ward knows vampires are strictly off limits. As a Watcher she is sworn to protect humankind from the nightwalkers. But a series of murders--the victims all women--leaves Kayla with only one choice: to join forces with the dark side. It isn't her fault that Ethan's seductive allure triggers every zone of pleasure in her body . . .

Lisa Renee Jones is a new author to me and while I really enjoyed Night Sins I had a couple of issues with it.
For starters this book ends in an HFN. Kayla is a Watcher, a member of a group of kickass women who protect the world from supernatural beings. Ethan is the most powerful vampire in town and has had an eye on beautiful Kayla since they met.
The beginning gave me the feeling I had missed something, almost like when you catch a movie 20 minutes in and all the main players have been introduced. While I didn’t feel lost at any point, since it is perfectly explained who and what everyone was, I couldn’t help wishing I’ve had a little bit more time to get to know them.
Troubles going on in the city brings them together and it’s decided that working with each other is the best way to go. As a duo they kick the bad guys asses repeatedly and their chemistry and attraction is off the charts. You just know this will lead to the inevitable togetherness they can no longer resist, even if it’s against all their rules. Unfortunately, their being together leads to more than one surprise.
At this point I felt that this was an excellent story. I was completely engaged with both characters and the action was freaking awesome which had me gearing for a 4+ star rating and I wanted more, more, more! Unfortunately, I reached 87% of the book and instead of Kayla and Ethan finally forming their mating bond we get a Teaser Chapter for another book by the author. I was beyond pissed. Nowhere did I find a note that said this was not a finished story… it doesn’t even say that it’s part of a series, so I believed I was getting a complete, albeit short, book.
While a great story, the open ending and the lack of warning of the ongoingness of the story did some damage to my book buzz, and I hope the author takes notice of this.
