It's not just the motion of the ocean, ladies. It's definitely the SIZE of the boat too. And I've got both firing on all cylinders. In fact, I have ALL the right assets. Looks, brains, my own money, and a big c&$k. You might think I'm an as%*$le. I sound like one, don’t I? I'm hot as sin, rich as heaven, smart as hell and hung like a horse. Guess what? You haven't heard my story before. Sure, I might be a playboy, like the NY gossip rags call me. But I’m the playboy who’s actually a great guy. Which makes me one of a kind. The only trouble is, my dad needs me to cool it for a bit. With conservative investors in town wanting to buy his flagship Fifth Avenue jewelry store, he needs me not only to zip it up, but to look the part of the committed guy. Fine. I can do this for Dad. After all, I’ve got him to thank for the family jewels. So I ask my best friend and business partner to be my fiancée for the next week. Charlotte’s up for it. She has her own reasons for saying yes to wearing this big rock. And pretty soon all this playing pretend in public leads to no pretending whatsoever in the bedroom, because she just can’t fake the kind of toe-curling, window-shattering orgasmic cries she makes as I take her to new heights between the sheets.
But I can’t seem to fake that I might be feeling something real for her.
What the hell have I gotten myself into with this…big rock?

EDGy Review

Reviewed Sparkles 1Big Rock is a hilarious best-friends-to-lovers through a deal romance.

Spencer and Charlotte have been great friends since college. After each forayed in different fields work wise, they decide to make their college dream job come true and now they run a couple of bars together. Charlotte is being pestered by her cheating scumbag of an ex who happens to live in her same building and who seems set in winning her back no matter how much she tells him to take a hike.

Spencer is one cocky mofo, and I mean that literally as well as figuratively, with a playboy rep. Now that same reputation is getting in the way of the sale of the family business so he decided to kill two birds with one stone. So, Big Rock is a story of how things never go according to plan. How Spencer realizes what he’s had right in front of him all this time and how easily you could lose everything that matters to you.

A laid back, no drama, sassy girl, Charlotte was a great leading lady. Maybe not being in her head made her more so, but I seriously loved her. Spencer at first was too much of a cocky ass. Yes, he had the stuff to back this up, but still, I found him a bit annoying through the first chapters. Fortunately, we get to see how adorably obtuse he is about his feelings and to watch him finally realize what he had with Charlotte was just perfect. I’m not usually fond of the friends-to-lovers plot but this one was written in a way that made it totally believable.

“I am about to taste her. I am about to slide my tongue between my best friend’s legs, and I’ve never been so fucking turned on in my life”

And yes, Spencer’s one track mind and dirty mouth helped. By the end of the book I totally l-o-v-e’d him, adored them together and was completely hooked into the whole family and friends. So I can’t wait to get my hands on Mr. O, who’s patiently waiting for me on my kindle right now.

With a great pace, hilarious banter, fantastic one-upmanship in smartassery between all of them and some seriously hot scenes, this was a great read and I totally enjoyed it.

Double epilogue? Ms. Blakely might have just won my forever favorite author award 🙂
