New neighbors are bad news in Samantha Harper’s experience. Especially ones as suspicious and brooding as the guy who just moved in next door. So when the dangerous but sexy stranger seems to be involved in something illegal—the aspiring cop in her takes action. If only she could stop thinking about how he looks naked...
All DEA agent Ash Cooper wants to do is lay low and survive this crap surveillance assignment. But after a run-in with his attractive neighbor, he realizes that’s going to be much harder than he planned. Keeping the woman out of trouble is hard enough, but keeping his hands off her is near impossible.

On Her Six was an interesting kind of story. Sam wants to be a cop, just like her Daddy and Grandpa were. Her only problem? She’s taken the admission exam for the academy 6 times, and she still can’t pass. So now she works as an administrative assistant at the police station by day but after her nine to five she protects her neighborhood along with the Neighborhood Watch league of elder ladies. To add fuel to the fire, her dad has gone missing while working undercover for a drug kingpin and she’s the only one still looking for him.
Ash, an undercover agent with the DEA moves next door on a surveillance assignment that he is not excited about at all. He finds himself in the position of needing to do his job while keeping her and the elderly neighborhood watch ladies out of his business, and out of trouble. Plus he needs to quit fantasizing about her. None of this works out well for him.
As Sam and Ash start to get in deep with each other, things start to get more and more complicated. When things from the past come to light I began to wonder if their feelings for each other would be enough to pull them through.
While I liked both Sam and Ash, Sam had some very TSTL moments. Even with having had some training and being an aspiring cop she’d still go into dicey situations without backup and virtually weaponless. This started to get on my nerves when it kept happening.
Ash had the whole bossy alpha vibe at the beginning but then didn’t quite deliver on it, so this too was a bit of a letdown. Though that nude workout routine? That was brilliant material.
On Her Six was a suspenseful story with some steam to it and great banter plus Sam and Ash’s ability to get on each other’s nerves was at times hilarious. The Elder Ladies League was a fantastic addition: meddlesome, opinionated and resourceful. They were simply badass grannies and I loved them all.
The resolution of the plotline was a bit too easy and convenient, but still the story made for quite an entertaining read.
