The finale to Bear and Thia's epic love story.

Thia is prim and proper.
Bear is leather and lawless.
It will never work between them.
It's a lie they almost believe...

This book may be unsuitable for people under 17 years of age due to its use of sexual content, drug and alcohol use, and/or violence.

Reviewed LilyLove, Love, Love this Series!

I have been waiting on Soulless, Part 2 of Bear’s story ever since reading Bear’s predicament at the end of Lawless. Thankfully there wasn’t a big wait. Don’t attempt to read this book without having read the previous books in this series as the plot continues to build from the earlier books. What I appreciated about the King Series is the stories stay with you.

The writing is fast-paced and charged with drama. Bear is focused on revenge against his ex-president and father, Chop. The less said about Chop the better, he was just as horrible as ever. There were a few times I had to backtrack what I had just read whether it was due to minor errors or scant background descriptions leading into a new situation.

“Bear was as beautiful as he was hard. He was as complex as he was simple. He was both the storm and the calm. The fear and the solace. The rage and the peace.
My life and my love.”

Thia doted on Bear in her youth but now she’s older and wiser when it comes to the reality of her man. She’s a resilient woman who had the tendency to get up and move a situation along. Well, there were times I applauded her actions but there were times I seriously thought she’d overstepped the mark. Bear used these moments to work their frustration out in a way that had them both forgetting their anger.

There were many of my favourite returning characters, but the one that stood out was Grace. She was the best person the boys could have found in their youth. She’s an amazing, adorable senior citizen! Her devotion to her chosen family and the way she brought love into their lives was beautiful. I’ll never listen to Sinatra again without thinking of Grace and her positive approach.

One of the aspects I enjoy in this series is the different personality traits each character has and how succinctly they fit together. Rage is a fine example of this: she’s quirky, functional and entertaining. Once I became accustomed to her ways, I found her to be endearing…if a hired gun can ever be considered as such.

Out of the books I’ve read so far in the series, this was probably not my favourite but it was a page-turner and I couldn’t put it down. A massive revelation is dropped at the end which I had to read at least twice to make sure I’d read it correctly… but there’s no doubt, it’s there. It’s a good revelation but one I never expected. There’s nothing to indicate what’s next but I can see the potential for at least one, if not two more books. The one character who intrigued me was Raze and her story at the very least is the one begging to be told.

Bear may have lost his soul for a moment or two, but he won me over with his love and care for others. With the angels he had on his shoulders, he was bound to do right, albeit in a slightly skewered way! He did convince the ones that count that he is a man of his word.

I loved the epilogue!
