The final, shocking conclusion to the #1 bestselling Gypsy Brothers series.

Juliette Portland’s purpose was simple: Seduce. Kill. Avenge. Once Dornan Ross and his sons were dead, her future was supposed to be clear. Her life was finally going to begin. And love... Against all the odds, she had the love of a boy she never thought she'd see again.

Everything should have gone according to plan. Everything should have been easy once Dornan was dead and buried.

But nothing’s ever that easy, is it?

I might have survived Dornan's wrath, but I was different then. Younger. Stupider. I’ve had too much time to think since I got out of the cage he locked me in. I've had too much time to dream about all the things he did to me.
I think about revenge a lot. When I’m thinking of the way the light dimmed in Dornan’s dying eyes and the way he said you killed my sons.
How beautiful it was, and how hollow.

Sometimes, I can’t tell if I’m starting to become him. My father. Dornan. The way I am, the things I’ve done—they make Juliette’s sins look like child’s play.
Of course, I’d never tell her that. I’ll never tell her the things I’ve done.
It doesn’t mean she won’t find out anyway.

What an epilogue!

There can be no gleaming when it comes to the carnage generated within this series and Zero Hour is written in the same raw manner as the other books. A link is provided to three alternate POVs from Dornan, Jason and Elliott and I highly recommend you read this first. All their accounts are heartbreaking and add yet another dimension to what drove each of the men to act as they did towards Juliette.

**Spoiler alert**

If you haven’t read the Gypsy Brothers Series, stop reading this now and check out Spice’s review of the series up until this point.

Assuming if you’re still with me you’ve already read the first 7 books and to be honest the only people I expect to be reading this will be other readers who are curious as to what I thought about the epilogue. In essence I loved it. Unlike the other books, this was more about bunking down rather than revengeful plotting. Revenge is a dish best served cold, but even cold there seemed little to gloat about. It was complicated, more complicated than I imagined and how Juliette, Elliott and Jason were to move on from everything life had dished up to them was a mystery to me.

It becomes evident that Dornan’s reach goes beyond what you expect and he continues to be a major influence in an unstoppable way. The price paid for Juliette’s revenge has been substantial and it would seem payment would be never-ending. Contemplating which deeds were justified and which were for the greater good of society can be too much for Juliette and the guys. Having started reading the Cartel Trilogy, you understand not all monsters are born, some are created. Living with a monster, created or not, is a kind of hell no one would wish on another.

The epilogue had an epilogue! It wrapped up the series well and I was only left with one question View Spoiler » and that question was the reason my rating was 4 stars rather than 5.

Lily’s rating: 4  Stars
