One touch and she is his…
Jared Ayers works outdoors, embracing a solitary life, hiding from his inner demons. But after so many of his Pack brothers have found their mates, he starts wondering if there might be a mate in his future too. His world turns upside down after he's hired by the "Ice Queen of Lake Tahoe". One touch is all it takes. One touch to send the wolf howling within...
A gifted psychic with pyrokinesis, Taryn Goldstone wields fire beyond her control– sometimes with dire consequences. With Jared, she discovers that some flames are meant for passion–and healing. She has enemies who covet her powerful gift, but they are about to learn just how far a wolf will go to protect his mate.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I strongly advise reading this series in order. While Ice Moon and the previous installment in the series I’ve read (Harvest Moon) can be read as standalones because they each center on a different couple, the ongoing story line and supporting characters are so intertwined that you struggle a bit to keep up with who is who (and what they are) at the beginning.
This installment focuses on Taryn, a real-estate agent and single mom. She is known around town as Ice Queen because of her unfriendly manners and more than reserved personal life. As we get to see more of her we learn that she has a nine-year-old son whom she doesn’t touch. Ever. So to say she comes off as standoffish is putting it mildly.
Jared is a carpenter and a werewolf. Taryn hires him to build a new deck on her house and one touch is all it takes for him to know she’s his mate. But that’s not the only thing he finds out. It turns out Taryn is a gifted psychic with pyrokinesis as proved by the burnt hand prints on the front of his shirt.
But things are even more complicated than that, Taryn’s past is filled with heartache that has pushed her gift out of control. Jared has his own issues that he’s been keeping even from his pack.
Now they not only have to unearth and accept each other’s secrets but the evil corporation, Nero is sticking its nose in their business.
Action, romance, family time and a bit of drama makes Ice Moon a very engaging read. I felt it was a bit more focused on them as a couple and their relationship building than the ongoing story, which is what kept me from enjoying the previous installment as much. Now I’m really hooked on this series and can’t wait to know what happens next.
