Some fashion statements can kill...
Mika Ito combines her two favorite things in life—textile design and live-action role-playing (LARP)—by creating costumes for her fellow Magic Battledome gamers. Lately, someone's been assaulting LARPers and stealing their costumes. Concerned for the safety of her friends, Mika hires Maltese Security...only to discover that the lead investigator is the super-hot stranger she just hooked up with.
Carlos Castillo is all too familiar with Magic Battledome. A former legend in role-playing circles, he was all about gaming, until things went very, very wrong for him. Now he's forced to return to the game undercover—as Mika's boyfriend—to find some answers. Only playing “boyfriend” with his gorgeous one-night stand is more temptation than a guy can withstand...
Someone wants the costumes enough to kill for them. And when it comes to murder, nothing is what it seems...
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Suspenseful, geeky and scorching hot, Killer Seduction is the story of textile designer Mika and Carlos, an agent with Maltese Security hired by Mika to help with a situation she has going on.
Their relationship doesn’t really start on the right foot (although that could be argued, I’d say they started with a really right foot). A bar hook up turned into the hottest one night stand, has both of them jaw-dropping when they find themselves seated across each other on the conference table at Maltese headquarters.
Mika’s friends and LARPing buddies have been targeted by a mugger stealing parts of their costumes. There’s no way three separate thieves would want part of a Live-Action Role-Playing game’s costume… and the police aren’t taking things seriously.
Carlos is the one with the geek background at the agency, having been involved with the online version of the game; but after a traumatic experience, he cut himself off from that world.
But this job needs someone with the right background if they have any hope of stopping the assaults that are escalating in violence. So Carlos will have no choice but to put himself and his legendary alter-ego out there again to help Mika. All of this counting on the ability to keep their hands off of each other… which apparently is impossible.
Soon they find out there’s much more than just LARPers involved and things will get seriously dangerous and it’s not certain everyone will get out of this unscathed.
I certainly wasn’t expecting Designed for Murder to be this hot. There’s a lot of sex going on in these pages View Spoiler »I’ll confess I was even a little shocked by the butt play during a first encounter… I mean, dude… that shit is personal « Hide Spoiler and Mika and Carlos most definitely have scorching chemistry together, though at times it felt like this was the only thing they shared and when feelings started to blossom I found myself wondering where they were stemming from.
Suspenseful and entreating this was a quick, hot read.
