Isabelle Cooper's in big, big trouble. Her flower shop? Well, it was just bought by the man she’s had a crush on forever. Her new boss, Devon Donovan, is a tall glass of melt-in-your-mouth hotness. The problem? Devon is definitely not interested in love. No ifs, ands, or buds about it.
Devon knows Isabelle has been crushing on him since college, but buying her business shouldn’t be a problem. Not only is she his employee, but as the eldest Donovan brother, he’s too busy protecting the family fortune for romance. But tomboy “Izzy” is all grown up now. And he’s finding it impossible to resist her, no matter how hard he tries...

This was a quick, sweet romance with absolutely no sexy times. You should always know that before hand 😛
Devon, being the oldest boy at age 10, had self-appointed himself protector of his mother and brothers because of his physically abusive father. He spent all his life taking care of and making sure everyone was as safe and happy as the situation allowed it. Now with everyone around him settled and happy, he finds himself free to finally think about what he wants.
But while his head is on one path, his heart is in a completely different place… and he won’t admit to it, even when it might cost him the love of his life.
Isabelle has always worked with her parents in a flower shop, but when her parents sell her livelihood to go live at the beach and saddle her to work for Devon she finds herself in a conundrum. You see, she has always had a crush on Devon, and after getting a makeover from flower-loving-tomboy to sexy-business-woman it seems as Devon is finally seeing her in a different light.
Unfortunately, Devon is not into commitment. He’s had enough responsibilities to last him a life time, and besides, with his family fortune on the way, it’s best to keep things separate. They’ll be boss-employee from 9 to 5 but come 5:01 all bets are off… as long as they keep things discreet and just between them.
At first, Isabelle is ok with this setup, after all, she’s never moved on from her college days, and it was about time to get caught up with her age. But as time passes and feelings start to grow, will only ever being together in private and never acknowledged in public be enough for her?
As I mentioned, there’s no hot to this romance, but there is certainly sweet. Some steamy kisses are shared but everything mostly happens behind closed doors and then we see the morning-afters.
Head Over Heels for the Boss was an enjoyable, easy read and well paced. The epilogue completely threw me, though, and while I understand telling the readers to be on the look out for the next story in the series, I felt the way it was done was a bit rushed: Look, this and this is going to happen next, so stay tuned… it didn’t really work for me. It kind of took away some of the romantic buzz I had going after Devon finally takes his head out of his butt.
