The sting of this Scorpio is unforgettably hot...

Ivy Danforth is out from under her Colonel father's overprotective control, and she's making it count. Big time. She's taken the summer off to travel through Australia with her bestie and experiencing all that life has to offer-when you're not under constant military surveillance. She wants to end her summer with some sexy fun, and she has just the hottie in mind.

Seth Rodrigo is ex-Special Forces working undercover and keeping an eye on Ivy as a special favor to her father. All he has to do is not give the game away and reveal who he really is. And especially not give into the hunger that's burning through his careful control...

Then they're forced into protective custody. Alone. Together. For four days. And this time, the Colonel's daughter isn't taking no for an answer...

By SparklesSo, about 70% of this story takes place in a hotel room. No, no… wait, don’t get excited, it’s not the sexathon you’re picturing in your head.

This story is about Ivy, a retired Colonel’s daughter, who’s been sheltered, protected, and even a little bit smothered by her daddy.

After finishing college and before starting her job she takes some time off from her father and his over-protective crap and goes to another city to bar-tend and “be young” with her best friend…but mainly she just wants to lose her virginity, you know, because at 23 to still have your virginity is like carrying a highly virulent disease…

For the last 3 months, she has been eyeing the hotter that hell bouncer Dean… but to no avail, he keeps his distance no matter how many fluttery-eyelashes looks she sends his way.  Little did she know that Dean’s not a Dean but a Seth, and he’s ex-Special Force’s and running a security company.  He’s also been hired by her father to keep her protected.

As her time there is almost coming to an end, she witnesses a crime along with Dean/Seth, and they have to be placed under protected custody… together… in the same hotel room.

Well, it turns out Dean/Seth has had the hots for Ivy but as he owes the Colonel he would never act on that.  So begins Ivy’s plan of seducing the man with the will of iron. She all but throws herself at him naked… no wait, she did that too.

Anyway, I had a hard time connecting to Ivy, I mean, couldn’t she accept the poor guy obviously wanted her but had some issue with having sex with her? At one point I got totally exasperated with her, especially when she got her feelings all hurt when he put a stop to their actions.

Dean/Seth was hot, protective and super sharp. I really wanted to kick his ass more than once. He was really, really good at putting his foot in his mouth. I’m talking like world champion material here.

Anyways, the book was entertaining enough if a bit slow. Ivy came off as desperate at times which I didn’t quite like and Dean/Seth took a bit too long to get his head out of his butt. But, I still liked The Colonel’s Daughter and I’ll probably be reading more from this author.
