As far as Nina Beaumont is concerned, money ruins everything. Leave it to her wealthy family to screw up her professional life and her personal life. When she crashes and her car sinks, sending her identification and all her belongings spiraling into the watery abyss, Nina sees her chance to escape. And stumbles into a job with the hottest man she’s ever met…as his maid.
Between running an inn, caring for his grandmother, and trying to keep the dirty-dealing Beaumont Corporation from stealing his land, Joe Farina's plate is full. He doesn't have time for romantic entanglements—especially not with the suspiciously bad maid he just hired, no matter how much he needs her…both in and out of his bed.Screwing with her life is one thing, but Nina’s not about to let her family screw with Joe. That is, if she doesn’t lose him when he finds out who she really is.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I totally felt sorry for the poor little rich girl and her “nobody likes me for me” tale of woe. For real, that sounded kind of sarcastic but I swear when Nina is feeling low it brought tears to my eyes and I felt really bad about what her life was like.
Joe was a sweetheart. A workaholic, control-freak-ish, super hot, soccer-playing sweetheart.
The story goes like this: Nina is sick of people treating her deferentially just because her father is a billionaire. At a very crucial moment, she drives her car into a watery grave (all to save a duck) and all her belongings, including her ID, go down with it save her phone. Deciding to prove to everyone, but most of all, herself that she has worth by herself and not only for the last name she was born to, she accepts a job as a maid in Joe’s inn. Let’s just say that didn’t turn out as smooth as she thought it would.
Joe is at the end of his rope, he is low on staff, has too many obligations with the town and his family, and a very insistent magnate (who incidentally is Nina’s father) is trying to buy the land his newly acquired B & B project is situated on. He most certainly doesn’t have time for relationships, or even entanglements, least of all with the hot little number that came late to her first day on the job and seems totally inexperienced in cleaning.
Well, let’s just say that both Nina and Joe experience feelings for each other like nothing they’ve known before. Luckily for us, their control is pretty nonexistent leaving us with what turns out to be some really hot, steamy scenes.
I really enjoyed His Millionaire Maid and Ms. Kwan’s writing style. I was with them through the whole story and couldn’t help but feel for them.
