Three months ago, graphic designer Vanessa Hewitt slept with the ridiculously hot guy she met after nearly falling to her death while stargazing on a bridge. The adrenaline-fueled night of we’ll-never-see-each-other-again sex fulfilled every fantasy, but with her best friend’s wedding on the horizon, Vanessa can’t stop thinking about what would happen if her sexy stranger passed through town again.

Haunted by his time in Afghanistan, soldier John Campbell returns to his hometown just long enough to help plan an engagement party for his sister. When he realizes her best friend is the sweet one-night stand he's been fantasizing about for months, he’ll do anything to have her again…though getting trapped together in a storeroom wasn’t quite what he had in mind.

Vanessa is in hell. Or is it heaven? Because with every touch, their forbidden connection grows, until kissing Mr. Wrong starts feeling more like kissing Mr. Right...

This book may be unsuitable for people under 17 years of age due to its use of sexual content, drug and alcohol use, and/or violence.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

By SparklesI really enjoy Ms. Carpenter’s writing style (also love her cute puppy pictures on facebook… but that’s totally unrelated). Her books are fast paced, the dialogue is funny and the chemistry between her characters is great.

Kissing Mr. Wrong had all of this. John aka Jack, is Vanessa’s savior when he thinks she is about to jump off a bridge after having a lousy day. Vanessa was just going to sit on the bridge and enjoy the night air but who wouldn’t want to be saved by a hot, built, soldier guy?

Although he is just passing through town, their chemistry and attraction is undeniable so they agree on spending one night together. For both, it turns out to be the best night of their lives.

Three months later, they’re both still hung up on the other, so when John comes back to town for his sister’s engagement party the first place he goes to is to find Vanessa.

They can’t believe that it feels as if they were never apart, or that they don’t want to be apart again… but soon they find that they have someone in common: John’s big sister, the one with the engagement party? Yep, that’s Vanessa’s best friend… and whose only request was for her best friend not to crush on her baby brother while they planned her party together… you can imagine how the rest went.

While I really enjoyed this story, I wish there was a little bit more of it. There’s a back story with John coming back from Afghanistan and his dealing with everything that happened during his tour. And Vanessa being an artist but being unable to tap into her feelings and imprint then on her paintings. Though it didn’t feel rushed, I would have loved to see them interact and spend more time together and grow as a couple.

Well paced and entertaining, this was a quick read and cements Kerri Carpenter’s writing style as one I really enjoy.
