Joe 'Tiny' Taylor is a big man with a big heart; he's also the hit man and enforcer for The Freaks MC. He's all about family, whether it's his brothers in the club or the women at home, Joe takes care of them all.
But that's where it gets complicated.
Between his crazy ex Maria, her younger sister Beth and his mother, there's more to negotiate than in the deepest workings of the outlaw life. But there's one shining light that always holds true for him, his North Star, the one that keeps the darkness at bay. Amy, Maria's young daughter.
It's a delicate balancing act, and it's down to Joe to keep it all together, but someone threw away the manual.
This book had a 5 star feel to it from the first chapter right through to the end. Even when the story ripped my heart out it did it well. Of course, I didn’t want it to go the way it did but it gave it a very real feeling.
Joe was a perfect mixture of sweet and badass with a heart of gold. Amy stole the show with her cheeky smart comments. Joe proves that it’s what you do that makes you family, it’s not the blood but the love that flows through your veins is what counts. Joe steps up or makes sure someone does anytime he thinks Amy needs help. She adores the man she thinks of as her father.
This is the story of a feared man and the little girl he has accepted as his daughter, the love they share and the beauty they bring out in each other and those around them. This isn’t a fairytale, it doesn’t skimp with details nor is it void of pain and tragedy. You’ll get value for money with the story being full length, not too long but a book that you’ll look down and be pleased that it has so much more for you to enjoy. Have the kleenex ready and a couple of days to enjoy your time with The Freak MC
