Mia Cantrell is happy to be rid of her lying, cheating, ex-husband. With her divorce final, Mia is moving on, grasping the reins of life once more. She’s learning to deal with the shattered remains while putting one foot in front of the other, taking control of her own decisions, and ultimately living one day at a time. Too bad the universe has put a hiccup (or two) in her well thought out plan.

Phoenix Pierce is putting the pieces back together after the death of his father. Between his multi-million dollar company, the NHL team he now owns, and the endless supply of women willing to share a bed for one night of uninhibited sex, he finds himself going through the motions. Until he meets Mia. Although he’s on a mission to win her, that doesn’t solve his problem of the other person he wants… the man he has denied himself for years.

Tarik Marx doesn’t think anyone could ever fill the void in his life the way Phoenix unknowingly has. That is until he meets Mia. Thanks to a fractured childhood, Tarik has to face a bigger problem: he doesn’t know how it feels to be loved. His past adds additional complexity when Tarik finds himself trying to figure out how he can have them both.

Is it possible for a million tiny pieces to come together again? And if they do, will that make the bond even stronger than before?

By SpiceI have been immersed in biker books lately and decided I needed to take a break.  Miss V mentioned the ménage book, A Million Tiny Pieces, so I one-clicked it and dove right in.  I’m glad I did because it was exactly what I needed.  It was all kinds of hot and sexy yet sweet in its own way too.  After all the grit of the biker books I’ve been reading, I definitely needed me some sweet.

The story revolves around Phoenix, Tarik, and Mia.  I liked Mia, but she seemed a bit naïve.  She was desperately trying to restart her life after having it interrupted by the sleaze bag she married while she was in college.  I liked that she was picking up the pieces and getting on with her life, but I wasn’t sure I bought her going along with what Phoenix and Tarik wanted from her, either individually or together.  After a very public and humiliating divorce, she was extremely gun-shy of being thrust into the limelight.  Unfortunately, anything to do with Phoenix would put her right back in the spotlight and not in good ways.  I decided to ignore my doubts about her personality change and just go with it.

Phoenix was confused and my heart hurt for him because he was trying to cut off a part of himself to be what people expected of him.  This generally doesn’t turn out well, and it didn’t for him.  He was drawn to Mia, and he was also drawn to Tarik who is his friend, bodyguard, and personal assistant.

Tarik was my favorite.  He’s definitely got some alpha tendencies.  He had wanted Phoenix for a very long time and his patience with Phoenix’s confusion was running out.  When he met Mia, he decided he wanted her too (I guess that makes him greedy but I’m not complaining).

I have to say, these three were hot together.  Smoking hot, which is not surprising since Nicole Edwards can write sex scenes that will have you reaching for your significant other.

What did not work for me was the legal drama going on with Mia’s ex.  I’m not going to get into it other than to say there is no way any of his claims would have gotten traction in the real world and that bugged me.  There was also a few things that were never explained, for instance- who was following Mia?

Overall I am really glad I read this book.  It was sweet and sexy and just what I needed.  Without the awesome sexy scenes, I would have rated this 3.5 stars but the hot, sexy sweetness of it raised that rating.

Spice’s Rating: 4 stars
